Our after school classes are for children who are in reception and above, the session begins with a warm up and stretch followed by apparatus training ending with a cool down and stickers.
Children will focus on two pieces of apparatus a week, we feel this benefits our gymnasts as they have more time to develop on each apparatus/skill. Each apparatus will have 5 activities, children will work in partners and rotate round each activity. We have a 1:10 ratio in each group. Each class is design to help children improve their co-ordination, balance, flexibility, fitness as well as to help build confidence, communication and socializing skills. We want all children to enjoy their gymnasts and learn skills at their own pace.
We work towards ‘Dolphina Levels’ and aim for children to pass one level per term but in certain circumstances this may not be possible. There are 8 levels to achieve in total (8 being the lowest & 1 being the highest.) Each level has certain skills children have to achieve in order to pass the level. All gymnasts receive a ‘Gymnastics Journal’ which they should bring to each session. This journal allows you to see what level your gymnast is working towards, what skills they have achieved/working on, they also receive stickers each week to show what apparatus they have done that week and a feedback sticker.
All our classes are based on ability rather than age.

PRE REC
Our Pre-Rec classes are for children aged 4 to 6 years. During this session they work towards their Level 8 and runs like our Recreational classes, the difference being that they are the only group in the gymnasium so is a much quieter environment than our usual after school classes. This class is ideal for those gymnasts that may struggle or do not like a busy environment.
