Afterschool & Weekend Gymnastics Classes in Watford

Our Recreational Classes

Our recreational classes are for children in reception and above. Each session includes a warm-up, apparatus training, and a cool-down, ending with stickers.

Children focus on two pieces of apparatus per week, rotating through five activities with a partner, ensuring ample time to develop their skills. We maintain a 1:10 instructor-to-student ratio in each group.

Our classes aim to improve coordination, balance, flexibility, and fitness, while also building confidence, communication, and social skills. Children learn at their own pace, and we work towards ‘Dolphina Levels,’ aiming for one level per term, though progress may vary. There are eight levels, with Level 8 being the entry level and Level 1 the highest.

Each gymnast receives a ‘Gymnastics Journal’ to track progress, note skills, and collect weekly stickers showing their work on different apparatuses.

Classes are based on ability rather than age, ensuring tailored instruction for each child

Our Three Levels

NOVICE CLASSES

Our Novice classes are for children who are working towards their badge 8 to 5 and are relatively new to gymnastics. Typically children in this class tend to be 4 (must be in reception) to 7yrs.

Please note: When booking, most of our Novice classes are labelled as ‘Novice/Intermediate’ this just means that there are a mixed of novice & intermediates in this session but children as always grouped according to ability and gymnastics level.

INTERMEDIATE CLASSES

Our intermediate classes are for children who are working towards their badge 4 to 1. Gymnasts should have some knowledge on rolls, handstands & cartwheels. Typically children in this class tend to be 8yrs+

ADVANCED CLASSES

Our Advanced classes are for children who have passed their Badge 1. They should be able to roll forwards & backwards, cartwheel, handstand, handstand forward roll, bend back to bridge and kick over confidently. Children tend to be aged 11+ in this class.

We offer taster sessions where you can pay for a one-off class to see if you enjoy it before committing to further sessions. Taster sessions can only be booked a week in advance, and payment must be made at the time of booking.
